The man, the myth, the legend, Tony Humphries takes his rightful place in our booth again as our honorary resident and disco dignitary. He is joined by g-HA & Olanskii and Øyvind Morken as the kindred spirits and rightful succession to his legacy here in Oslo. Disco, House and the future of club music owes much of its existence to this DJ. From Disco’s heyday, he has been a barometer for the dance floor, playing an important role in establishing House music and the early days of the nightclub from his home in New York in New Jersey.

When thinking about Tony Humphries, you might be minded of his epic stint at KISS FM-NY as one of its greatest Mastermixers; or of his residency at one of the greatest US clubs, The Zanzibar; or, even, the walls that are lined with gold discs, from Indeep to Janet Jackson; or his legendary eclecticism for throwing whatever works into the mix, from The B-52’s or Rhythim Is Rhythim to Blaze. Heck, Tony Humphries is, of course, all of those things and more. But then, there’s the Tony of today, restless, questing, searching for new challenges

Tony Humphries has now been DJing nearly 35 years, an incredible achievement that in any other industry would have been rewarded with a carriage clock, service medal and a free bus pass. His lengthy stints at radio stations like Kiss FM were not simply an exercise in career furtherment, but a way of introducing new music and acts to the city of New York – and further afield, as a continuation of what he was doing at his weekly residency at the legendary Zanzibar.

Two pivotal bodies in the sphere of Norwegian electronic music, g-HA & Olanskii are an event, a club, a DJ duo, and a musical authority for Norway. Individually adept as DJ, selectors and tastemaker, Ola “Olanskii” Smith-Simonsen and Geir “g-HA” Holger’s musical voices unified for Sunkissed, an events series that has become the backbone of Oslo’s electronic music scene and beyond.

Øyvind Morken

Oslo`s Øyvind Morken (pronounced Oy-vind) has a unique ability to play everything from A to Z of what genres concern. Working the dance floor in the most unexpected ways. For the last nine years he has held down a residency at Jaeger. Eight of them weekly under the Untzdag banner, a wordplay for Onsdag, Norwegian for Wednesday. It became an institution in Oslo. Drawing in a crowd of open-minded party freaks for nights of wild abandon, and where musical diversity and self-expression was encouraged.
