Mr Coalman is a Spanish artist based in Norway, with more than 25 years behind the decks. After a decade-long hiatus, he returned with a sharp focus on techno production, releasing over 80 tracks since 2024 across multiple labels such as SWAY, Liberta and Say What?, while also developing his own self-release series, Coal Series.
Upcoming projects include collaborations with Hertz and Marck D, plus new releases on labels including UMEK’s 1605 Groove Sector, Solid Tracks and Vantek.
His music has gained support from key names in the techno scene, and his productions have been played in leading venues, including Berghain and HÖR Berlin.
Sonically, Mr Coalman delivers dancefloor-focused techno that stays locked in the groove while weaving in hypnotic elements. Rooted in the energy and swing of early 2000s techno, his sound updates those foundations with a modern edge and a tighter, more percussive approach.
Beyond releases, he is the founder of Altera, a Spanish DJ collective built around showcasing emerging artists through a podcast series and curated events. He is also part of Lauget, a Norwegian collective working to grow electronic music culture in coastal areas where it has historically had limited presence.

While production is now his main focus, he remains a dynamic force as a DJ, known for groove- driven 4-deck sets, sometimes hybrid and including vinyl, shaped by long-form tension and precise, high-energy mixing.
